Hissing – This type of sound is usually in connection with a leak from your equipment. If your system is leaking refrigerant, shut off your equipment and stay clear of where the sound is coming from. Squealing – This type of sound is generally heard when there is an issue with a belt or motor bearing. This is a likely precursor to a larger problem and should be addressed by a local professional. If identified early, these are usually quick repairs. If left unresolved, they can snowball into problems resulting in more expensive solutions.
